"Invictus"
by William Ernest Henley; 1849-1903

"Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate;

I am the captain of my soul."

by Dylan Thomas

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

No longer forward nor behind
I look in hope or fear;
But, grateful, take the good I find,
The best of now and here.

A bear taking a dump asked a rabbit
"Does shit stick to your fur as a habit?"
"Of course not," said the hare,
"It's really quite rare!"
So the bear wiped his ass with the rabbit.

A bear taking a dump asked a rabbit
"Does shizzat stick to your fur as a habit?"
"Of course not," said the hare,
"It's really quite rare!"
So the bear wiped his ass with the rabbit.

So are we the rabbit and the city the bear? That's what it seems like, it's not very fair.

Rhyming is fun.

I will tell you right now you should be proud for even having your job. Up north it takes a letter from god to be appointed and sworn in. This is not directed at no one but just a general post...

This just in: We're kinda going after a contract here. Obviously it's not all a sh*tstorm @ FLPD. But we're not up north. If you haven't noticed, we're more than a little understaffed. So obviously, it's the city that is lucky to have us. Isn't it about time they compensated and treated us as such?

I'm surprised your post didn't have a cute inspirational quote at the end of it. Like this:

--You can do anything you set your mind to when you have vision, determination, and an endless supply of expendable labor.
