not at all...

absolutely.I don't think anyone has you handcuffed to your desk you can leave anytime you want if you are that miserable. Lots of PD's are hiring, as is McDonalds and Publix.

Desk? Who said anything about a desk?

Someone asked a question. Someone posted a answer to that question neither of which had anything to do with a desk.

If you want to talk about desk you should have selected the link to start a new thread about desk. Don't come to this thread which specializes paticularly about whether HBPD sucks or not and ramble on about people who work at Mc Donalds and shop at Publix being handcuffed to desk at other local PD's.

I GUEST IT IS THE SAME EVERYWHERE LOOK AT AVENTURA... THAT PLACE SUCKS....Life and work are what you make of it. If you want to be miserableyou can always find a reason. They can give you everything you think you want or need and you can still find something to make you miserable. Boys and girls this is a great job chicks dig the uniform and they pay you to scrap, how can it get better than that. Beats the hell out of digging a ditch or asking if you want fries with that order!

This is what I wanted to avoid. I posted a thread to receive and honest answer. Simply yes or no. But someone always has to go off subject and dramatize their response or spread there political propaganda. I know there are departments that make this place look like a shining diamond and vice versa. All I want to know is putting all the whining, complaining, backstabbing and b.s. to the side, do you think this department is really that bad?

Hall Cop, to answer your question, no this is not a bad place to work in fact it is one of the best in the area. Pay is good ya keep your head on and do your job and no one bothers you. You can even whine and complain and still do your job, no one really bothers you. You try to make your buddy do the work while you skate and they will bring that to your attention.

Does anyone even care to hear anymore complaining about this place. It is the same "sh-t" everywhere you go, there are "a-holes" in every workplace and you just have to deal with them. This job is all about the pension and having a good time. Just go to work, do your time and go home safe, that should be your major goal every time you work. How many people have jobs where you can go hang out with the boys the whole night and have a good time, and if you are lucky there might be a zorro sighting. In summary I will end this whole message with this saying. If anyone did not like what I said above, You can lick my "c--k".

Hi Zorro, i currently work for an unnamed dispatch center in Broward county and i finished school and was looking into what cities to work in. Is Hallandale a good city to work for? I went to school at Hallandale High so i know the area, the good and the bad. Can you give me some info on your experience there?

This isn't Zorro but I will tell you this is a great department. We have a few knuckleheads but 99% of the cops are top notch. The bosses are good, the city pays us real good, the pension is outstanding, and the chances to do news things in a city this small are incredible. If you went to Hallandale HS then I am assuming Tim Golden or Dwayne Flournoy were your SRO. Tim is still there so you can ask him. Or call Dwayne he is the Major in charge of all uniformed officers and just got back from the FBI Academy (not bad huh?)

We have openings and love to hire Hallandale people whenever we can. If you think you are ready give them a call. It would be a smart thing to do. Good luck!
