View Full Version : Voice of experience

The real art of conversation is not only to say the right thing at the right place but to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment. To take it a step further an old Arab proverb tells us that "while the word is yet unspoken, you are the master of it but once spoken, becomes the master of you." I've violated the tenants of that wisdom most of my adult life so I'll return shortly and share the experience of more than 25 years experience with ABT. I had the good fortune of serving when we were proud, respected and wlecomed by law enforcement throughout the state. I saw that change over the years and from what I read here in this forum it appears to have gotten even worst. Having been retired for more than 10 years (specific information & details altered to maintain Secret Squirrel status) one might ask: "why bother?" I'll have to figure that one out myself so stay tuned.
PS If any of you are wondering what a "wise monkey" is, I'll tell you now:

A wise monkey is a monkey that doesn't monkey with another monkey's monkey.
