I work for an agency that does zero amount of tactical training. What is the training situation at FDLE in terms of tactics? Do they allow you to go to outside trainers
Also, I know you guys have a Special Response Team. How hard is it to get on? Do that actually do anything?
Thanks mucho.
Outside training is allowed if it is specific to your assignment, however, with the $ crunch there's not much.
There are 2 speical operations teams, north and south. The south team is very active with entries and high risk arrests. Because we guard the governor and all other governors who visit, we're trained in dignitary protection, too. The south team does the Superbowls, FTAA's, and other assignments like running a Counter-Assault team as needed. They train monthly, pretty hard.
Experience helps to join, but agents with good attitudes and hard work can try out.
