When will construction for the new sheriff's office start?

it is finished now. beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i must say.

A newer building is not what is needed. Just more tax payer money that will be spent for construction contractor/workers in Tampa, Miami and other places out of our county to come, collect and take the money back home with them. The building we have now will do for years to come. The more room there is, the more TOP heavy it will become.
The county money spent to build a new Sheriff Office building would be better used for our children. Build more class rooms and donate the portable classrooms to other counties. The new classrooms can be built and used for more room for shelters. Local contractors/workers could be used for these projects.
Just a thought.

Do you or have you EVER worked at the HCSO? Obviously not because anyone who knows what the inside looks like wouldn't say it's a waste of money. Other Sheriff's let it get run down & did the MINIMUM - just slapped some paint on it year by year & mopped the floors. (Well, the trustee's did). That place is old, run down, and needs revamped! Sheriff Benton has stepped it up since she became Sheriff & has done NOTHING but GOOD things for her employees & this county. She is a great Sheriff & hopefully stays in office for a long time! She's HAD to spend a lot of money to get the agency up to where it needs to be & should have been. So don't diss on her for spending money when she is only doing it for everyone's benefit.

they should take Harder Hall and converted into a county wide government office buildsing
