FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Gov. Charlie Crist has appointed Major Alfred T. Lamberti as sheriff of Broward County.
Lamberti had been acting as interim sheriff in the wake of the resignation of Sheriff Ken Jenne in September.
Lamberti is a 32-year resident of Broward County and is a 29-year veteran of the Broward County Sheriff's Office.
