The much touted letter from Chief Powell had some serious effect. Two of Powell's biggest supporters from last election (Bailey and Rupert) gave money to McNesby.

Why is there no date on the letter?

I was really surprised to see this also. Especially seeing how one of the two really dogged some people out over their support of the sheriff.

I'm sure they had their reasons. They're probably still sore from last election (not derrogatory) and just don't want to go through it again. They're both good guys all in all. Expect the same from a lot of Willis supporters. The point is Morgan thought he had a golden ticket, but no one really cares about Powell's letter.

John "Job Hopper" Powell, thanks for your support. Now send more money for the Morgan video fund please

Hey so Morgan posted the Powell letter on his site. So what? Powell was a respected ECSO deputy and a credible candidate in the last election. The only ballyhooing about the letter appears in a derogatory post above. Morgan and his supporters are proud of the Powell support. If McNesby's people don't like it, tough bananas.

What scared the McNesby supporters four years ago and still has them concerned is the Powell campaign proved that McNesby is beatable. He is not a Bill Davis, Jim Lowman, Bob Sykes, or W.D. Childers in their best years when they were elected with huge majorities. McNesby just squeaked by Lowman when he won that race and again just barely beat Powell considering he was the incumbent with hundreds of thousands of special interest money. Squeakers luck never holds out forever![/code]
