With such low pay, how does FDLE seem to even get applicants when local PD's pay much better and have more opportunities to make additional $$$ (off-duty details and overtime). I've thought about applying with FDLE but have looked elsewhere after seeing the salary and have read about the process (very slow), I'd probably be better off applying to the feds (another slow process). Stay safe and I hope you get compensated some day the way you should.

Some Agents make very good money in the 80's-90's and some not as much it depends on longevity. Some were hear for the step plan and other bumps and raises. I agree most Agents are underpaid, I just am speaking for myself that I love my job and it is not just about the money. Hopefully the State will make up for the shaft this year we got and do a little beeter in 08.
