There was once a fear and a mistik about police. Criminals knew that they would be going against, not just the officer, but the symbol of law and order of the nation. They knew that their was no corner of the earth, that the F.B.I was not coming for them. Bad guys would think three times before harming or even offending one of us. Over the years, defense attorneys have painted us as crooked, dishonest and the media has ran with it. Now, we are seen as just one more person that the criminal has to eliminate in order to get away. They know that even if they get caught, they will be given a free and vigorous defense. It is the sign of our times.......and it makes our jobs much deadlier.
