View Full Version : Polygraph Advice-Experience

I came to Miami to take a polygraph at Slattery (polygraph firm) in Doral. I've taken polygraph exams before and had no problems. However, this one was seemingly unpleasant. For some reason, I was extremely nervous and I could not calm down for anything; I think it was because I really want this job. To make matters worst the polygraph examiner had very little patience with me and he only conducted one set of exam questions. At the end of the testing, he was very curt with me and told me that he could not give me my results yet because he had to take time to read them. He told me that I would have to retrieve my results from the hiring agency.

In my experience with polygraph exams or CVSA exams, the examiner usually conducts the test two to three times and the results are available right then.

Is this the typical way that polygraph exams are ran in FLORIDA or do you think that he was trying to avoid confrontation on the basis that the test did not look well for me? I am confused about this and the examiners disposition made me feel really uncomfortable. What ya think?

Most do not give you results right there and then. The only thing that baffles me is why would you want to live in South Florida when you come from a kick ass state with courteous people??

He is right. Why in the world would you come to Florida (or even the Miami area). If you do end up here, Take some advice. Don't come to Hialeah. It would be the worst mistake of your life.

First off you failed the exam for sure. I've taken over 8 poly's and every single time I've passed them(6) they told me right on the spot. The two times I failed they didn't have the bells to tell me in my face but told me my agency would let me know once he figures out the results(that was b.s) And I do agree with the two previous posts why in the hell do you want to come to a state that is so messed up right now with high insurance rates and taxes. All we need is another major hurricane to bankrupt this state. Try looking in Georgia, Texas, Tennesee, or the Carolinas for low cost of living. Good luck to you!!! And please don't ever think twice about Hialeah because it's the worse dept in all of dade county.

Hey "First off you failed the exam for sure...."

Thanks a lot. You really helped me with your insight. I want to thank all the guys that gave me input and a heads up about Hialeah. By the way, I was not applying for Hialeah; I was applying with Miami Gardens. I figured that you guys would have some good info since you are all in that general area.

Take Care and be safe!
