Adding lights to take home cars

Are you able to add lights to your take home car? If so I was wondering if anyone could provide a copy of their policy or procedure on adding lights to a department vehicle. Our union is pushing to allow our Deputies to put lights in our cars so we are looking to mirror other agencies policies. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you and stay safe.

Adding lights has become less of an issue since the move from strobe lightbars to led...they simply arent needed any more.

However, when adding lights was popular a couple years ago, the garage preferred you purchase the lights and then let them install them so it was wired correctly. We had a couple issues with people burning up circuits by doing it wrong.
