i cant believe it. my lt has finally lost his mind!! he has always been a little off, cares more about what people think than doing what is right but now he has really lost it!!!!!!! he is talking about taken the advice of some disgruntled supervisors and disbanding our trainers!! he says the supervisors have a point that training needs can be managed by the shift supervisors, but if the shift supervisors are doing the training then who is doing the supervising? i am a trainer and i enjoy doing my job and the thought of having to turn it over to a bunch of disgruntled supervisors is blowing my mind!! i cant take it anymore!! what kind of agency lets their ranking officers make decisions based on feelings and perceptions!!!!!! arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is anyone hiring? i live in north florida but am willing to relocate to any sane agency that believes policys should be made for valid reasons and not on whims and grundges and disgruntledness!

I work at an agency in South Florida and its probably just as bad. Our comm. center was bought out by the county (only the comm center now, the LEO's are still city) and ever since then we've gone to dog poop. Their hiring process seems to be the worst because since taking over in "99" the work ethic has definately gone downhill. On Alpha shift, people can actually be caught sleeping, I mean totally in la la land, Bravo, where favoritism seems to play a big part, people canoodling with the supervisors, texting while working, up walking making copies of xword puzzles to do that day...U name it youll find it. Charlie, complaining about Bravo about how they are lazy only because they themselves have to do some work instead of deciding what to order for dinner that night or who's all going to the casino after work. Ive heard comments from a day shift person (and shes said it for years), I not going to work as long as I can get away with it and another say Im not going to do anymore work then I have to.
Then you have me and a few others, that care about the officers and our job and never really get any reconition, if we happen to do something even minor the supervisor says something and we pick up the slack for all the slackers and are totally burnt out. Also, when one of the "favorites" does something instead of the super. taking them aside and addressing the problem, we have a 15min briefing b4 our shift starts and its addressed there for everyone to hear which totally isnt fair.
New management has also taken over the Comm. Centers too, and I still havent seen a change.
So, you want to find a place to work, you better really check because it seems like alot of places are unfortunately alike, and its really to bad because it never was like this under the city rein.[/b]
