What deputy on the sergeant list should be promoted but has been passed over numerous times?

06-19-2007, 07:08 PM
Without mentioning any names I know someone who is the Deputy of the Year and got the highest score on the Sgt.'s test and he has not been promoted yet!!!!!!!!!

If you are talking about the current deputy of the year in tamarac then thank goodness. This fat slob has no right to be a sgt. If we are talking about the same person then lets throw some facts out there. A@@ kisser, goes home for 10-40 and calls in complaints from his house so he does not have to handle the call, failed out of the correction academy before the first block exam, to scared to handle a call by himself...... Please let you be talking about someone else and I am wrong PLEASE!!!!

This is obviously BS because the test scores are not published.

I think i know who he is talking about. I was at exam review and they announced the highest score and I saw his test grade. He had the same score that was announced.

I have been reading the messages that have been posted on this site and I do know that several problems within BSO can be attributed directly back to KJ and his executive staff. Having worked at a great many positions at BSO over the many years I can tell you that while no law enforcement agency is perfect there always seems to be something negative to give this place a bad name. One of the least fair practices here is the promotional process for Sergeant. There is a test to study for then if one passes the written test all that pass gets their name put on a list of which promotions are made from. But despite a passing grade on the written portion of the test promotions are made by a team of command executives that sit round table style and all politic for their "choice". If you happen to be the choice of the person pulling for you then you will probably get stripes but if you are just a "peon" with no connections then too bad for you as you will die on the list. There at one time was an assessment portion of the sergeant exam where outside command officers from different agencies in the county were asked by the sheriff to come in and interview the potential sergeant applicants and to do an assessment on the abilities of the sgt. candidates to think under pressure.
Somehow the assessment process fell by the wayside. Then the rule of "5" was established but did not last very long. So, now, it really boils down to who ever the command staff wants, mostly due to favoritsm, and recommends to KJ.
This is the tip of the iceberg with the multitude of problems at BSO, more to be written as time goes on. Any questions are welcome

I also attended the test review and it was common knowledge that some big guy, who's name I do not know, was at this review and he got the highest score on the test which was a 111.

If what you wrote is true, I would be filing a lawsuit. Just don't use a PBA attorney

This is the worst mistake someone can make. You should always have your name on the list if you aspire to be promoted. One never knows what may happen in the future and if something positive does come along, at least they can not tell you "well your name isn't on the list". The injustices are not just at the Sergeant level, they exist at every level, there are several people who have been passed over time and time again for Lieutenant, take for instance Greg Lees, how did Darren Dowe ever get made before him? What about Lamberti, why is he still a Major? These are just some of the hundreds of examples. Keep your heads up. Stay Safe.

Anyone heard rumors of who is going to get promoted this time around?

06-21-2007, 12:26 AM
I heard Calatuno from Dist 7 C.I. was mentioned this time around.

06-21-2007, 02:06 AM
With the 2008 election right around the corner, I support Kenneth David Padowitz for sheriff of Broward County. Rumor has it that Lamberti has been in discussion with Ken about who would support who for sheriff once Jenne is ousted.

Hey guys,

I know a Deputy from PBSO who's gonna run for Sheriff at BSO. He's a pretty good guy. Knows his politics. He's for the Deputy.

The reason that Maj. Lamberti is still a major is that KJ sees him as a real threat and there are empty suits above Lamberti that are only there because they have brown nosed and azz kissed their way up the ladder, unlike Al who is just a real standup guy and is the logical choice to be BSO's next boss, this guy knows his stuff without a doubt!

As has been said, lots of people have been passed over for all different ranks - some time and again for years. Some for good reason and some for no good reason. Been down that road too. Others get promoted up the ranks so fast they should get a nose bleed.

06-23-2007, 04:14 AM
I heard that Howie Rudolf is the leader for Sgt!

06-23-2007, 05:50 AM
Hey, you can always get lucky like I did. They didn't want to promote me, I heard they promoted the wrong guy, with the same name. It doesnt matter, I speak spanglish so I would just threaten a lawsuit and they would have no choice, but promote me even though I aint qualified.

Do you mean that someone isn't qualified to be a Captain after only 10 years??? or a Lt. after 5?? or a Sgt. after 2?

Job experience and qualifications....you must be insane

Training, education, experience, proven under fire, and time in rank before promotion......that went away under Cochran and still under SKJ. At least Nick promoted half that had experience. Hard to have tight control over someone that's been in the trenches of all ranks on the way up, has intestinal fortitude and character, and knows what they're doing.

Dear MOD 420,
I sincerely repent for my electro-verbage sins. Before anyone bashes you for deleting it, it may have been construed offensively. Not that it compared with the character's offensiveness, but I get the picture.
Also, as for using names without consent, I genuinely believe you must not work here... Won't happen again

As for revamping the orignal idea for anyone who cares to read this;
The promotions may actually be very close (without being post-poned)
The list may very well make you throw up your hands in disgust and say, "Who Cares!"

It's a shame that you study hard, not only pass a test, but come out NUMBER 1, only to get passed over. I, haven't heard anything bad about Ron, no ghosts in the closet, Ron's a great Cop.
