This budget cut crap is total BS. The city of Clearwater has literally burnt up millions of dollars in public projects that have had no returns for taxpayers. That stupid roundabout and its demise were equal to a whole crap load of city employees salaries. But who cares becuase we can just cut back next year. The stupid downtown road project to give scientologists a pretier walk, ridiculous. So how can we cut back, hmm, yeah cops and firefighters, gosh thats a great idea!!
How about the city commisioners cut back on their salaries, the city manager salary, and excess city admin salaries. How about get more aggresive on parking violations, increase parking fines a buck, and increase the size of your traffic unit. In case you forgot these units and devices bring in $$$ for the city directly.
I smell BS. I smell some backdoor politics in motion designed at promoting someones political agenda. Theres no doubt that PCSO could do CPD's job, but CPD is a great organization. The city has almost a century of work out of it, cutting it back will cost the taxpayers in service and safety. This is all being done because something may happen. BULLCRAP.
