Cut-out all of the fluff. Go back to the basics. Road Patrol and Detective Bureau puts the bad guys in jail. Specialty Units should be secondary and if necessary liquidated. You could save 10 million by cutting special interest projects (Community relations/services, Eagle Academy, Non-Law enforcement function take home vehicles, increase span of control to 15/20 Deputies to 1 Sgt., take home cars only for PBC residents, go absolutely paperless and digital statements, Why work S/4's (the Insurance Companies don't contribute any 185 money to the deputies retirement cause the Ins. special interests got the law passed to protect them) When the Ins. Companies start contributing to our deputies like to municipalities, then we can take the crash reports, unitl then re-direct the CSA and traffic Units and tell 'um to call FHP, Turn those CSA positions into more Crime Scene Investigator positions so processing can be done daily at scene throughout the county. The Pinellas County SO has about 10 CSI's in service on every shift. We have 12 for the whole county. Marine Unit TOT to Marine Patrol and Coast Guard. Mounted Unit just shut it down. I can thhink of no reasonable justification to wasting that money. That is truly Fluff.

Now why isn't Broward Sheriff's Office and Miami Dade S.O. aren't struggling over their fiscal budget? Are they? I have not heard of any hiring freeze coming out of their agencies or a drastic budget cuts to soome of their programs or units.

As you can see, no one is able to come up with legimate budget cutting ideas. Shows this leoaffairs is just a place for all those people who want to complain. No serious posts can ever be expected. Mindless individuals who would rather play on a computer.
