The media has just been released the PRB case involving a D8 deputy, a flashlight and excessive use of force.

They are calling it "Breaking News" with details at 6pm and 11pm... :oops:

BH, I did not post this to envoke a discussion on your case. I really think there is nothing to discuss about it.

Nothing against you but I am just tired of being back in the negative spot light with the media again. Call it bad timing or whatever, I just wish we could go for a year without all the negative publicity about CCSO.

Like all the others, this too shall pass.

NBC 2.....We take on crime head on.........I'm thinking if they were faced with crime they would face the other way. Those acnhor people, or should we just call them what they are, TALKING HEADS, have no idea of what it takes to be a Corrections Officer or a Law Enforcement Officer. I would just love to see any one of them deal with a domestic situation, an angry drunk, a crack head, or run lights and sirens to a fight with weapons involved. I dare them to go into a cell block with 80-90 pissed off felony offenders and break up a fight, or listen to them call you a pu$$^ a$$ motherf@*&#! for a shift.

2070, your back at work and its a done deal. I'm sure this will be brought up again during sweeps week. Screw'em. They just don't know. But you know who they would call if they needed help.

turn key? not funny. the guys working the jail are professsional, at least most of them are. lets not talk about the commandd staff. i got lots of respect for the COs, most of them.

You still need a spine to do that job effectively. Don't knock it 'til you tried it.

So, just because a prisoner is mouthing off it gives a deputy the right to break the rules??

No one is saying your jobs are easy. They are not. No one is pretending for a minute that we could do what you do. But, YOU are the ones that signed up to do the job, not us. It's your job to enforce the law while following the rules of the CCSO. Your salaries are paid by the taxpayers. The public expects you to follow the rules, and that means not pulling out your flashlight or pepper spray whenever you feel like it.

The PRB cases are openly made available to any and all media. If you don't want "negative" press, keep your nose clean and follow the rules. Expect that any wrongdoing is fair game to the media. How can you expect the media not to cover things like jail deputies asking for BJ or deputies with kiddie porn? You blame the media? How about blaming the people that committed these heinous acts.

My statement about an inmate running off at the mouth was only to point out that it just makes the job more difficult and the talking heads in the media are blowing things out of proportion. They are like National Enquirer reporters. They are the one that pretend to know how hard our jobs are.

The lead line in the story about 2070 was, "Collier County Deputy beats handcuffed prisoner with a flashlight." I think if she did she "beat " that person she would have been fired.

I can deal with negative press. It may sting for a bit, but i does not prevent me fron doing my job.

As far as Greene and Lawson. Well when I heard about Greene, I was glad he was found out and arrested. As far as Lawson, well I thought I was going to have a stroke when I heard about it and wanted to arrest him myself. I don't blame the media for what they did.

I dont pretend to think we are perfect. And I dont want people like them in my profession.

Darla Lathrm was a friend of mine. She worked for Charlotte Correctional Institute. She was killed in the line of duty during an escape. Naples Daily news that day had a huge front page story about Carey Grant or Gregory Peck passing away. The story about Darla was on page 6. Now you tell me if the media gives us a fair shake or understands the dangers we all face everyday.

heroes are only famous in naples when they fall. you can tell a great deal about a community, and an organization, by the way they treat their heroes.

You speak of the taxpayers out there and doing our job correctly,
well think of this. The next time someone tells me, 'I'll have your job or I'll have your badge,' I'm gonna look you straight in the eye and say
