K-9 Team

Postby Mr. Optimistic » 01/14/12 14:11:47

I would like to take the time to say since the recent change in supervision of the K-9 Unit, I have already noticed a BIG and POSITIVE change. Nothing against the former Sgt, but Sgt. Kyle Albritton is heading in the right direction with some successful stories so far. Keep up the good work.

I happened to be be walking by the Sgt's office the other day and noticed the "sticker" board the other day and noticed it looks like they K-9 Unit was producing stats. It is good to see them getting back on the board. I am hoping the unit gets the reputation they once had years ago.

Not really sure how they're producing stats when every time you try to call for a Canine they aren't available. We know their availability issue isn't because they're actually taking a call or writing a report.

You must work on the wrong side of the house then. Our K-9 guys are very helpful in taking calls when we get busy. And you also must know that an email came out from the capt stating its not their primary function to take calls. They are to be available for K-9 related calls. Not being available was one thing that got a handler who is no longer in the unit kicked out. I know the guys on my side and I dont mean just my squad but the both squads are producing the most stats as well as taking calls. I would venture to say they probably take more calls than you do listed above. If you are so worried about taking calls, then go work the front desk or even get out of law enforcement. I assume you are a deputy so if you are then shut up and work you're zone and stop being so negative. You are just disgruntled for some reason. Or if you think you would do a better job, maybe you should put in for K-9 next time or even go out to their trainings and see what it takes.

I'm sorry you are upset. All I can speak for is the handlers on my squad. They have never told me no. As a matter of fact, both handlers have even broke from 10-40 to come help. I dont know where you get your facts from guy.
