Cain asked for the security, and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and congressional leaders approved his request Thursday, Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan confirmed.

I'm glad our Director told Congress five months ago that we don't have any money for the campaign and now we're picking up a candidate. Way to go, Sullivan! Way to show some back-bone. Meanwhile agents are told that if their GOV's need repairs, it's not going to happen...even if the car needs brakes. Agents are told not to print to printers anymore because there's no money for print cartridges. Yet, somehow we have the funding to pick up a candidate one full year away from the election.

I guess all the money for things that the agency needs to keep day-to-day operations going got re-routed to make Herman Cain look more presidential and to keep some 15's dream of being the SAIC of PPD alive.
Nice job...

Cain has effectively quit the campaign although he won't acknowledge the fact; simply saying he is pausing.

Does the USSS continue to protect him while he is thinking over his withdrawal?
Now what?
