Claimed in was unconstitutional and the monies collected must be returned.

Joe,
You and everybody else missed the screwing the the investment plan people just found out about. While the Sheriff or the employer has to contribute 20% for the FRS retirement the house and the senate have passed bills lowering the contribution for investment plan members to to 14%. Saving the Sheriff and other FRS employers money.

FOP wasn't aware of it and unlike last year where we got up to the minute updates on the FRS changes from the office, this year we did not get a peep about this.

It's ironic that in July the plaintiffs tried to have the money collected put into an escrow account pending the outcome of the lawsuit but were denied.
