Don't you know with troopers these days it is do as they say and not as they do?
About time FHP brass cracked down them as the troopers have been running the patrol for far to long now. Time the brass took the patrol back form the troopers.

Re: Speeding Trooper Investigations Have StartedEver since the hands-free cell phone ban, every time I see the Major driving around town, he's got his cell phone jacked up to his ear. He should have gotten darker tint.
Re: Speeding Trooper Investigations Have StartedHow are they catching people? I'm assuming GPS on the new MDT? I have since moved on to greener pastures, but when I was still on with FHP, EVERYTHING on the old MDT and Stupidcop could be defeated or manipulated.
You just gotta be smarter than "tha man." Anyone remember tape over the light bar photocell? ![]()
Re: Speeding Trooper Investigations Have StartedIf inflation continues at the current rate with no substantial pay raise from the state / governor, in five years you will be able to make more money from unemployment subsidies plus go back to college on Pell grants and net more than the base pay @ FHP.
Just wait until you see the first recruit class in 2017.
Re: Speeding Trooper Investigations Have Started
Yea no wonder! Its WRITE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Speeding Trooper Investigations Have StartedI think he means violation of the write of weigh although I see a lot of cars making improper leff turns.
Re: Speeding Trooper Investigations Have StartedE didn't mean leff e meant rite. And you misspelled write of way. It should've been "Rite" of Weigh. Sheeeeeeessssssh!!!!
Re: Speeding Trooper Investigations Have Started
Yes through the GPS on MDT
Re: Speeding Trooper Investigations Have StartedCan you no longer turn it off? "Twenty five minutes till shift change and dispatch is sending me to another S76 that's 40 miles away; powering down."
Re: Speeding Trooper Investigations Have StartedI remember a certain Director who was recently arrested for domestic violence and taken to jail telling troopers that this new computer system would never be used to track members.
My my how Colonel Knight lied to us all.
Re: Speeding Trooper Investigations Have Started
So how did he lie? Did Knight make this new policy or was it Brierton long after Knight was gone? Pull your head out of your ass and at least try and get it right!
Re: Speeding Trooper Investigations Have Started
FHP started using the MDT to track troopers while Knight was still the colonel before he was run out of FHP. If this technology FHP has today was in place when Knight was still the director you can bet Knight would have been all over using it against anyone he did not like. As it was he used what was available to him which was the MDT software and that was after he went into troop meetings and promised that the MDT would not be used is that way. Knight was nothing but a liar and that is proven as he was fired for creating falsified documents and for being negligent in his duties.
Re: Speeding Trooper Investigations Have Started
Yea and if you aunt had balls she would be your uncle!
Re: Speeding Trooper Investigations Have Started
Yes I saw this with my own eyes in Ft Myers district. You had a LT in the comm center on midnights who would go out riding around looking for troopers to see if their location matched that shown on the avl. He would call and ask what you were doing if he saw you in the same location for more than 30 mins. You had Sgts. using it to try to spy on people they wanted to see go down. Sounds like it was being used a little more than for "officer safety" to me!
