If you haven't already heard, many cars will be recycled. That's right - they will be rebuilt and put back on the road. Worn and unsafe parts will be replaced, seats rebuilt, paint and decals refreshed, engines and drive trains brought back up to "factory specs" and reissued. Crown Vic 2.0 is going to a troop near you. The troop captain will be issued a bottle of "new car smell" to spray just before you get the keys.
Do yourself a favor and keep your crown vic, the 2011 charger is a piece of crap. I've had mine a few months now and it's been in the shop more than on the road. both headlights have gone out and it takes 2 hours plus having the front bumper taken off to fix. 4 different trips to dealer for recalls. oh and don't do median turn arounds, cause the bumpers will fall off. The stability control kicks on for no reason. I would rather have my old crown vic back. The back pain has gone away since I got the new charger, but the pain in the neck spending my days off at the dealer isn't worth it. Wait and take the caprice or taurus when it becomes available.

If we don't get new cars any more, maybe all these idiot rookies will finally wake up and realize whats important - their salary and retirement benefits instead of the states patrol car.

Only unmarked cars not marked. Thanks for playing though.
The lot is empty. The installers are in Orlando doing cameras. No cars are expected until the spring. If they arrive then, it may be middle or late summer before they are assigned.

But at least they are taking the savings and giving it to troopers as a pay raise right? My apology to those who busted a gut laughing at his post. Didn't intend to cause physical pain and mental anguish.

I have yet to see anyone at the Orlando station installing cameras. The only cars that have cameras are the DUI units, and those were installed by contractors. They have also not released a schedule or time frame for the installation of the cameras. Our cameras are collecting dust in the station, where they have been for months.
If I am wrong, or if someone has more information, please advise. Thanks.

I would not bet on that holding true. Read the LBR and the Consolidation Task Force documents. A rebuilt cruiser is in your future.

This practice is called resurrecting the dead and companies that used to do it back in the 1970's all stopped the practice because it ended up costing them far more money then replacing the vehicles.
