Since everyone talks about team work, I hope someone could help me out... I am a very hard worker, good team player and a good asset to a team, guys give me the chance to form part of the team, seems situations are FUBAR but that is not stoping me from moving foward, so any good advice or at least a heads up would be very much apreciated.

You want good advice read the other forums, i know you may want a job right now. But right now you will end your career before you even start with this comand staff. If can wait then do so.
I understand completely how you guys feel about the command staff, and it's not the first time I have been working in a place that feels this way about the brass...
No disrespect intended, I'm just interested in someones real advice to my question.... My question is not how you feel about the man, is what to expect when I go to an interview with him.... I read that you guys what more patrol officers etc, etc, etc, so I guess helping out new people coming in should be the right thing to do... If we don't form part of the solution, we become part of the problem.... And again thanx in advance to anyone that takes some time to help me out.
65 views and no good advice son, ha-ha.... Shows you the good team work SPD has... Don't think for one second patrol men care about new people... You are competition for them... My advice to you, be cool, calm, collected and you will do just fine... Ohhhh and be careful son, things are not always what they seem....even if you an Indio, assuming you are native.

Maybe it's because SPD has change??? Your stepping into a whole new world!! As far as competing there is no competiton, due to most people WANTING TO LEAVE. As far as the meeting with the Chief all you have to do is kiss his ass, make it seem like he is god's gift to Law Emforcement and you will be fine!!! Telling how great he is and you will be fine..Ohh and snitch on your fellow officer, heck he maybe bring you in as a LT!!
Well thanx for the little advice so far, just wanted something simple, but it seems the hate here is stronger than the will to advice me oh well guess it was my mistake asking... And killer be I am not full blooded Indian, then again that has nothing to do with it.
Yes, things are that bad ! No union, no benefits, no pension, no raise in 3 years , oh wait 2% this year. The brass gives more write ups then a real police department ! It's sad when the most senior officer on the road has only been there for 3 years, with the ftos being there for 1 1/2 years ! It's sad this was once a great dept, but betrayal and lies have cost this dept. Many great officers . The chief is just a yes man attempting to be a tribal member , but what he is there are no words for. He promotes from outside and hires his buddys from bso . Do you believe there are more csa s then officers here the budget for them must be around 1.8mil plus all the overtime . Then you pay dispatchers who don't dispatch on other reservations in order to centralize the dispatch center with a failure of a radio system that wheels recommeded bc of outside ties with a particular company with no formal bid process. Ask the it dept they'll tell you ! He also takes credit for setting up many specialized units that charlie started, then destroyed them to hire buddies . Question why is there 6 csas + 15 command staff just in Hollywood but only 2-3 officers ? Gow many managers do you need to supervise 2-3 officers at any given time ? It's sad and a shame he's a phony and deserves to be blackballed just as he's done to other ofc he needs to be put under the same stress and duress he's put many people thru !
Guest 24, thanx for painting a clear picture of the situation... So I fear if I get this interview, my qualifications mean nothing.... very stresfull, I really wanted to work for SPD.... Oh well, let's see what happens...
