"It's a new type of workforce we're dealing with...they don't want to work for anything because they simply don't know how. The only manual labor they were confronted with while growing up was picking their own weight up off the couch. For them, taking out the garbage was like a 16 hour shift in a deep mine. The second problem was their parents or parent. Defended, not disciplined, every time there was a question about their behavior left us with a great challenge in the workplace. Parents often see their children as they want to see them, not as the truly are. How do we deal with this new type of employee? Diagnose it as a "condition" so that society will accept it and provide for a cure. The answer or cure came in the form of instruction and books..translation...$$$$$. Cater, coddle, cuddle. It's easy to blame, evade responsiblity at every turn, cut corners and loaf.....it's how they grew up." (The New "Labor" Force, 2009)
