SCOTUS to hear Second Amendment case:
- The U.S. Supreme Court previously ruled that U.S. citizens may legally possess firearms inside their homes.
. - The Supreme Court will now determine if U.S. citizens may legally possess firearms outside their homes.

It makes sense that if the framers of the Constitution allowed people to possess firearms "inside" their homes, then they also allowed firearms to be possessed "outside" their homes. It's a logical extension.
- If you (a non-LEO) purchase a firearm, then you are in possession of it outside of your home, at the point-of-sale. That should not be illegal.
. - If you are flying from your Florida home to your winter home up north, then you should be able to legally transport your firearm while passing through an airport in New York City, instead of getting arrested for possessing a gun that is properly declared, tagged, packaged and carried in the belly of the aircraft with other suitcases. That should not be illegal, but NYPD has made arrests for it.
. - The same concept applies if you are carrying your firearm in your vehicle while traveling through middle states, to get from one home to another home. It should not be illegal. People have been arrested for it, even if it is being transported in the trunk of their car.
"Inside the home" v. "Outside the home"... hummmm....

If a non-LEO flies from Florida up to New York City (such as at LaGuardia Airport) while carrying a properly packaged and tagged pistol, then they can be arrested for possessing it, when they retrieve it from baggage & handling, to carry it to their parked vehicle in the parking lot, to transport it to their apartment, because they are outside their home with their gun. Also, it is almost impossible for a person to be approved for a CCW permit in New York City, unless they are a VIP. It can be legally dangerous for a person to transport their firearm through multiple states in the USA, due to the odd patchwork of laws, such as in the above example.
