    BSO Deputies freedom of information

Word has it that BSO has been using cell site simulators to spy on their employees phone calls and locations. They use a standard pen trap and trace application to target your phone but these boxes which are about the size of a briefcase do much more than tell them who you are talking to. They over power the cell tower signal to make your phone talk to it. They will then bounce you back to the regular cell tower after they capture your signal. There is some speculation this has been going on for awhile at BSO. Enough is enough.

These devices are also known as swamp boxes, stingrays, IMSI catchers etc etc. They are yet another way BSO does an end around the 4th amendment. The reason is because these machines also capture your data like text messages and conversations as well. It’s bad enough they would use this kind of technology on criminals but like all technology if placed in the hands of the wrong people it can be abused. And BSO HAS BEEN ABUSING IT. Word has it the corrupt IA bureau has been using it against their own employees. Where is our union while our rights are being violated????

If you guys are not using an encrypted service like what’s app or telegram or signal or google abu you better start using them ASAP. We can not trust our own agency. This agency has no respect for the 4th amendment and really needs to be reigned in. Was Edward Snowden really a criminal for exposing corruption?

Go away PBA! You try a new tactic every week and isn't it exhausting?

Of course BSO has stringrays. We use them against bad guys. We have referenced them in warrants. The rest of this is just rhetoric unless you've got any specifics and I presume you don't or you would have given at least one example of this happening.

Just remember this, the devices by law must be configured to disable the phone content interception function, unless you guys are operating under a title 3 wiretapping order. Which we know you’re not. Technology is the wrong hands is a dangerous thing.

All you deputies need to download what’s app or telegram or signal and talk in those apps and nothing else.

Hey Mr. self righteous, if you’re using these devices improperly, you are the bad guy! Title 3 D!ckhead, just remember that.

You’re gonna have to lay out better bait and set a better trap than this. Don’t worry you’ll get to read all about it in the upcoming lawsuit.

I call BS on this. Unless they are investigating a crime, they ain't using it for adminstrative IA investigations. There is no such thing as an "administrative" subpoena either. And if your suspected of a crime, I don't have a problem with it. If they are investigating you because you are going to your girlfriend's house 5 miles from your district when you should be in your zone, well it's easier just to follow you around for a few days to prove it.

So if you know BSO is doing this, then you would know it’s a felony for each call they illegally listened to and you would also know that there are logs kept on these devices. You might also know that none of these devices are owned by BSO but on loan from the feds.

You point out that an individual or group should do something about what you already know. Why don’t you contact the FBI if you have proof BSO is doing this? After all, you would be compelled to report such crimes by policy and law.

So now you’re going to preach to us about the law? That’s laughable. The law says you don’t commit violations of the 4th amendment by illegally going into someone’s hotel room and illegally arresting them. Doesn’t the law say that? So why are you refusing to admit your wrongdoing? I’ll tell you why. Because you think you are above the law. If we can’t trust you not to do something that stupid and blatant, how can you be trusted to keep a log of anything? The answer is simple. You can’t be trusted. Period.
