Same pay and benefits as you glorified parking lot guards. Enjoy the redneck domestics in scummy trailer parks and the Marchman Acts when they throw up on you and in your cruiser. At least we don't clean up anyone's barf, urine and feces. How does it feel to be a janitor?

Looking forward to working with you parking lot guards real soon to see you in action!
Usually we use inmates at the jail to clean our cruisers. When they are done cleaning up puke, crap and piss they go back inside with you jack hammers. You will see us when we drop the captured animals off at your zoo turnkey.

Fat chance of that ever happening. It’s more likely that bailiffs will backfill the jail, those who came from turning keys that is. And people wash out of the road and go back to the jail, not the other way around. Different jobs tiger. And having a gun means little. We just don’t have an enclosed environment to deal with people the way you do. Start stirring crap up. If you are unhappy with your chosen profession change it. We won’t need us versus them BS right now. Grow up.
Better check the contingency plan and state regulations. As long as one deputy is D&C certified on a jail floor the other members do not have to be D&C certified, can be LEO certified. The D&C certified deputy would be supervising the Neanderthal patrol certified staff filling in. It might seem demeaning but at least you can get free fake coffee in staff dining and some scrumptious inmate prepared meals. Let's make the best of it, after all it will be Bob's order and you patrol guy love him so much.

At least you get to enjoy the smell and inmate well wishes during the ride. Now go and make sure those parking lots and overpasses are safe.

Deal! And you go do those body cavity searches and make sure you check beds. Watch those inmates shower and eat three meals. That’s tough work.

If you think that patrol will not man the floors at the jail when they run out of warm detention bodies, you are dumber than you sound on this board.

Exactly. That has been the contingency plan forever.

It will be interesting to see the patrol boys reunite with some of the fine folks they arrested.

Those few that came from the jail to the road, will be called first. I'm sure of that. Your patch reads the same as everyone else. Pinellas Country Sheriff Department. Your just assigned to a different division. The needs of the department come before your opinion on who's sh!t and who's greater. You can refuse you assignment and be let go, you won't be missed. All this back-n-forward is getting stupid. Most working patrol, couldn't handle working the jail, cause of the close confinement and not having your weapons' to fall back on. Many in correction, couldn't work patrol cause now, everyone is out and about. Far be from me to say, you'll do what you told to do by those above you in rank. Chucky Cheese, is always looking for help.

Bob orders everyone where to go to work as needed. Patrol crybabies got 3 choices: do as ordered, quit or get fired for insubordination. Those who don't like it can quit right now.

LEO certified can work the jail floors as long as there is one D&C certified deputy on the floor to supervise.
