At this point, it doesn't matter. The Parkland squad knows that they have ZERO chance of being re-elected if reinstatement or a 2020 SI election were to infect our city. Laugh all you want. We do have the $ and we will have our own department. Those who can't afford the tax hike should put their homes on the market now and be ready to vacate. Our new private schools will be costly too. Those dead kids may be nothing but still photos to you, but we knew them from 2003-2018. They weren't headed for corrections. Israel is the very best Sheriff for cities who embrace radical left wing principals. Enjoy the way you live. To each his own. Pee in your unisex bathroom. Treat a homicidal juvenile to ice cream with the sheriff as an intervention. We love our deputies, but we REJECT the ideology. Are we at fault for not paying attention prior to 2/14/18 ? YES. Are we to blame for voting in individuals who brought problems? YES. We're GUILTY, of a lot of things that have cost us a lot, and will cost much more because of our own doing. But, we have the courage to admit it, and we'll CHANGE it. Pines and SWR are educating us about many things.

Hopefully he will be reinstated because the illegal arrest of deputies under this clueless temporary are criminal in nature and fdle does not have the integrity to operate independently of a corrupt governor Ron DeSantis.
If fdle did have integrity this temporary terd would have been long gone by now.

Hey, if Parkland wants to go it alone, they are free to do so. But, it does not seem to be moving too swiftly to accomplish that. Now, you seem to be trying to convince the rest of us that the residents of parkland are some kind of traditional conservatives. This does not seem to be the case, though. Parkland seems to be at least as liberal are Broward County, in general, and possibly more so.
Now, let me educate you on how contract district work. The Sheriff's office does pretty much whatever the elected leadership of the city want. It bends over backward to grant the wishes of the city fathers. If these wishes are at odds with YOUR desires, that is between YOU and elected leaders of your city. And, quit trying to get people believe that you LOVE your deputies. If you did, you would not be screaming for your own PD.
So, why did the City of Parkland contract with the Sheriff for police service? A clue: the PD was a political liability at the time. no local politician wants to relinquish any control over his own little blue uniformed army. Cities only contract with the Sheriff if they are facing horrendous fiscal problem or the PD has become a political liability for other reasons. So, we will see if the city fathers will reinstate their PD.
Now, local schools. The parents in Parkland had no complaints about MSDHS, prior to the shooting in 2018. With the money in Parkland, the parents could have gotten much better security than existed at the time; IF they had really wanted it. But, like everyone else in the county, the parents in Parkland never conceived of the possibility of a mass school shooter. Then, after the inconceivable happened, the parents in Parkland wanted a scapegoat. A person in authority to be punished. They were happy to accept the suspension of the Sheriff, even though he was not responsible for the shooting. That did not matter. All that mattered was that someone, in a position of authority get blamed. If the SRO at Douglas ws a member of the Parkland PD, would the Police Chief be fired? Would the City Commissioners who voted to hire him have been recalled or suspended by the Governor? How far would the people in Parkland go to punish someone else for the shooting?
Good luck with your plans.
Now, if Parkland does reinstate its own PD, then the Sheriff can take the ranll and file deputies and move them to the unincorporated districts. I'm sure that the po' folk will appreciate Parkland's sacrifice.

Well all we can say is don’t let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya. Then why did you so called rich people sign a new contract with BSO shortly after MSD shooting??? I guess the city didn't ask your opinion now did they probably because you are a nobody and your opinion mean squat.

I was approached by a complete stranger in the grocery store parking lot today who stated and I quote “looks like we’re getting our sheriff back, he’s a good man and hey never should have blame him for stoneman douglas.” The reason I took the time to post hisbis I can’t describe this man’s enthusiasm and he was a black guy.
I can’t emphasize the black part enough because Scott Israel still has loyalty from a large part of the black community. And he already leads the other demographics. If the Senate doesn’t reinstate him this will guarantee his re-election next fall. Don’t kid yourself he’s coming back now or next year no matter how bad you may not want that to happen.
If The Republican Party pulls a political hit job on him and it’s going to cost us the state of Florida in the next presidential election. Sorry Desantis your dumbass isn’t worth those presidential electoral votes.
