The LEO position reposted for the third time. Is no-one applying or are the applicants not good enough for your admin?

Smart people work here just long enough to realize what a joke it is and then move on.

It's a small agency. They label you very early on...for this or that...,whether it is good or bad, or whether it is legitimate or not, you will be labeled. The stronger work personalities will determine it eventually on this job and it will stick with you, This is especially true when it comes to competitiveness for openings in a position or promotion time. The viciousness will happen guarantee you. You will survive here in the environment, or move on. It's the same cycle here over and over again.

Very few want to work here because they are treated like absolute dog shit. Entire hiring classes have been fired for bullshit reasons or they straight up quit.
All they need is to make up an IA and either you are gone forever out of law enforcement or your damaged goods and can't go anywhere.
God forbid you manage to get out and go work for a different PD, they will shit talk you so badly no one will want you.
From what keeps coming out of this University PD, it's pretty well known this is a very toxic place to work at.
It doesn't have to be either. There are a lot of good people, but it's like the PD has it out for new people and then is scratching their head not able to understand why they can't fill the ranks.

It's actually pretty simple... if you are a newbie..... don't do something to get in trouble... and don't lie.
The last hiring class as you called it was not great. There was 1 slug, 1 know it all that has done everything in life imaginable and did it 10 x better than anyone .
1 had absolutely zero business being a cop, he would have got one of our own hurt or killed.
And the last one didnt like chick fil a
Then dont forget about the tag team duo night shifters. One seems pretty decent and you can get along with easy. The other is a know it all, ****y arrogant punk.

I can not understand how this happens? How do you hire an entire group and they all turn out to be crap?
Who is doing the hiring. We have always been very picky here. How is this happening? We want the knock em' out, go get em' aggressive type A personalities....how do they keep hiring the type B and C personalities that do not make it here and not what we want on the job here? It's not that hard. There is physiological test they take to even get hired and what the agency is looking for.

I get what you're saying, I really do. However, I'm not talking about just one incident. This has happened several times already. If the PD isn't at fault here, who is? Is everyone that walks through the hiring doors all slugs, shitbags, and people who shouldn't be a cop? I don't really buy that.
Of the ones that come and go, the ones that decide to stay in law enforcement get picked up by someone else and do great. At some point there needs to be some self awareness and realize the attrition rate isn't due to everyone fired is a liar or not meeting some "standard".
There are many in the department that don't meet that "standard" and yet they made it through FTO? Did they somehow do an amazing job and now they just suck? I think from the beginning the department picks winners and losers, regardless of their ability as a cop.

There is a rumor that officers that have started here in their career and have done a decent job and have decided they want to go to a different agency, namely TPD, and have been basically hired, but a certain LT. here gives the TPD background investigator bad reviews on the officer, and thus they are no longer considered for hiring. I have heard that his has happened a few times. That is not right if it is occurring. This type of rumor gets spread to people in the police academy believe it or not, and the high rate of firing people here and a poor Administration is also known. This has scared a lot of new hires for even wanting to apply at USF PD.
