Knightmare in Sarasota County
So Knight expects a detective to invite a suspect to voluntarily drive all the way from Venice, Englewood or North Port ---- all the way to North Sarasota ---- for a voluntary interview that might get him arrested? Knight has placed another big impediment for cracking criminal cases.
The south county infrastructure was preexisting ---- and now with Knight disbanding it, it will be very costly, if not impossible (?), to reestablish operations it in the future.
- First, Knight cut the SRO unit in half, which was followed by getting rid of it entirely, thus causing the Sarasota School District to have to form it's own school police department ---- because Knight will not safeguard the schools. The SRO unit was preexisting, prior to Knight arrival.
. - Second, Knight pulled security out of the Clerk of Court building, thus allowing citizens without CCW permits to bring their weapons inside (until the judge forced Knight to reinstate security). Clerk of Court security was pre-existing, prior to Knght's arrival.
. - Third, Knight jettisoned south county law enforcement operations. Detectives from VPD, NPPD and CCSO will undoubtedly be less inclined to drive all the way to North Sarasota for weekly meetings to try and south county cases. The south county facility was pre-existing, prior to Knight's arrival.
What's next?
Seriously, this is a knightmare.

Just a huge circle. i remember when a former sheriff wanted to do the same thing and the people living in south county put a quick end to it. I would be willing to bet that there will be some protests with signage saying that the TAXPAYERS in south county are not getting and worse yet, paying for, their counterparts in north county. "Hey Hey, Ho Ho, It's time that knightmare goes"

Hmmm
What would you expect from a guy who has never been a deputy no less a detective. He can only detect the smell of GOP butts and Bendersons wallet. The guy has never investigated anything more than a traffic crash.

And social media means the Friday night bingo game at the church to the people that live in Venice. Just remember this Mr. Meter Maid with a gun, a lot of old people live in St. Pete but their parents live in Venice. This guy will go down in history as the worse sheriff of Sarasota county.

General Sherman's march through Sarasota County - torching everything in sight
DESTRUCTION OF SSO SRO UNIT:
The SSO SRO unit used to be a front runner in the United States. We were also one of the first SRO units to practice active-shooter training (before it became mandatory nationwide). Other agencies modeled their new SRO programs after ours. Knight first destroyed the SSO SRO unit -- and then disbanded it. Knight has destroyed our relationship with the Sarasota School District.
DESTRUCTION OF SSO COURT SERVICES REPUTATION WITH 12TH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT:
The SSO used to have an awesome working-relationship with the 12th Judicial Circuit. We worked hand-in-hand with the needs of the court. Then Knight got into an argument with the chief judge and Knight completely removed security from the Clerk of Court building, thus allowing all guns into the building, to include those without CCW permits. Knight has destroyed our relationship with the court system.
DESTRUCTION OF SOUTH COUNTY OPERATIONS:
The SSO used to have an awesome working-relationship with south county residents, to include surrounding police departments (NPPD, VPD & CCSO). Knight is in currently in the process of destroying those working-relationships with south county residents.
He is truly a knightmare for everyone who gets to know him intimately and for everything that he touches (torches).

Who has this guy ever gotten along with? No local agencies, feds, schools, and courts want anything to do with him. Seriously, this guy is not a likable person. If he wasn’t the sheriff nobody would give him the time of day.
