The mileage thing only exists in smart agencies. They are probably scrambling to get an academy class together because they can not retain deputies.

Also make sure you have no visible tats because they must be covered at all times even in 100 deg summer weather. 400lb beer guts are allowed however. Really no offense to you but they will hire pretty much anybody. Even cowardly illiterates.... so good luck to you, watch your back , never trust anyone (especially Grady or his minions )
As you can see by the posters on here that we fired a bunch of screwballs recently so there is a lot of bitter ones out there. Anyone can see that. Anyways we would love to have you on board.[/quote:24fqz61m]

howdy there company man.... lmao... FIRED ??? REALLY ??? is THAT why there are close to half a dozen or MORE former Polk D/S's at Tampa Police Department ? Is THAT why there are many many retired or early retired deputies loving life ANYWHERE and EVERYWHERE else ?? Dude let it go, and watch YOUR back because it does not take a lot for them to turn on you either.

to the original poster I don't see any reason for you to start out in a place that you know you're going to leave. You may want to consider some of the surrounding agencies that pay much more.

    Polk SO top out 54k

    Hillsborough SO. Top out 68k
    Tampa PD. Top out 71k
Pinellas SO. Top out 69 plus recruiting and relocating money
Temple Terrace PD. Top out 70K

    No sense in starting over.
