Re: Got the letter
I always wondered if the people who comments about anyone who talks negative about FHP our sounds like they are stirring the pot gets paid to say they are not a trooper or they are angry teenagers. Kinda funny but most of the time its not true. They are troopers. Thanks for being the mediator.

We were not mentioned in the bill to dismantle an agency you were.

Re: Got the letter
You can't tell troopers anything they know it all. A lot of them are good guys to work around but more than enough have the god complex for some reason. The facts were out there for all to see. The Patrol has been trying to get us over there with them for years for what reason. I think the senate showed why this year with the dismantle option. The only reason this didn't happen is because the sheriffs don't want to get screwed doing FHP's job for less money. There are some counties that already are doing your job for the most part. So Just thank dot for bringing something to the table that the county deputy and city police don't do. But please let's not start comparing specialized skills because I have worked wrecks before and there is not much to it.

Re: Got the letter
Funny, the old FDOT had k-9's, CIP, Post Crash, Hazmat, Cargo Theft units and we trained the weight inspectors at the weigh stations? Seems to me that Patrol NOW has many, many, specialized units.

And yes, its true, any one can work a crash but not always that well. Obviously that is the majority of what we do, so I think we have some skills in that area. Believe me I have ready crash reports from other agencies, V-1 struck V-2, end of report. Please go to the blog for your own department.
