what are the approved weapons for FLPD?

There is a long list of most 9mm and .45.

APPROVED HANDGUNS FOR SWORN, UNIFORMED PERSONNEL:
Colt, Ruger or Smith and Wesson Revolvers- Designed to chamber .38 special caliber or .45 ACP cartridge with a barrel length of four (4) inches or

• Smith & Wesson Semi Automatic pistols that have three and four digit model numbers. This includes the Sigma series pistols.
• Ruger P-85 and P-90 series pistols.
• Sig Sauer P-200 series pistols
• Beretta 92 series and Cougar pistols
• H&K USP series pistols, except variants #9 and #10.
• Third Generation Glock Pistols Models 17 and 19 in (9mm) & Model 21 in (.45 cal.)

All pistols must be double action and designed to chamber a 9mm Luger (Parabellum) cartridge or .45 ACP with a barrel length from three (3) to five (5) inches. All pistols must contain a firing pin safety block. Glocks must contain the standard 5.5 lb connector.


APPROVED HANDGUNS FOR SWORN, PLAINCLOTHES PERSONNEL:
Colt, Ruger or Smith & Wesson Revolvers- Designed to chamber .38 special caliber cartridge with a barrel length of not less than two (2) inches and not more than four (4) inches.

• Smith & Wesson Semi Automatic pistols that have three and four digit model numbers, including Sigma series.
• Sig Sauer P-200 series pistols
• Beretta model 84BB and 84F series that have a firing pin safety block.
• Third Generation Glock Compact Model 26 in (9mm) and Models 30 & 36 in (.45 cal.)






All pistols must be designed to chamber 9mm Luger, .45 ACP or .380 caliber ammunition. The Colt "D" frame, .38 special caliber revolver line and Smith & Wesson aluminum frame revolver are not authorized. Plain-clothes personnel may also carry any weapon described above for uniformed personnel. Glocks must contain the standard 5.5 lb connector.






APPROVED SHOTGUNS:
Shotguns are to be either Remington 870 series or Smith and Wesson 3000 series weapons designed to chamber 12 gauge OOB or Rifle Slug.


APPROVED RIFLES:
The only authorized manufacturers and models for patrol rifles are variants of the AR-15 and Mini-14 rifles, chambered in .223 caliber. They are as follows:

• Colt AR-15, A2 or A3 Carbine and AR-15, A2 or A3 Rifle;
• Armalite M-15 A2 or A4 Carbine and M-15 A2 or A4 Rifle;
• Bushmaster XM-15 A2 or A3 Carbine and XM-15 A2 or A3 Rifle and
• Ruger Mini-14, Mini-14 Ranch Rifle and Mini-14 Government
