working conditions?

Just for my information:
How are working conditions in St. Johns County? Any comments about the department? I have visited the area a few times and it seems like a great place to live with all the Florida history.

Good Place. We now pay for exp. for every 4yrs, you get an extra step up front. topping out at 12 yrs exp. Pay is good. Off duty work unlimited and OT unlimited. Heavy growing pains, but it's all good. Excellent equip w/ the exception of our radio sys. It still sucks. Schools are good, great family enviorment. A little costly to live but you can live any surrounding county and take your car home up to 10 air miles. County physician no cost to you or your family plus PPO or HMO plan. Hope thats helps.
