Volusia Sheriff info..

PLEASE, real facts here. I have 20 years out of state, am FL. Certified and would like to take a look at Volusia County Sheriff's. I have family there, so I know it isn't the cheapest place to live. I don't get my pension money for 8 years(50), so I will live on what I'm paid. I know there is a ton of off duty stuff with all the events, the starting pay around $30,000.
So, as far as the agency itself, how is it to work for, how do most of the guys/girls treat experienced guys coming in, is it a fair place, and with OT, how much could you make a year?

I hear nothing but wonderful things about the Sheriff's Office. If it does not work out there are also departments throughout the county both large and small (to include Lake Helen and Oak Hill).
