    question

I work for a nearby agency and hear that you guys have a jam up deparment. I am thinking about re-locating and hoping someone would answer a few questions for me. Do you still work the 5/8 schedule, and hand write reports still? On average how many reports/calls for service do you handle per shift? Thanks and STAY SAFE!

The standard shifts are 5/8 hour shifts, but there are 4 4/10 hour shifts. We have laptops (MDT's) in the car now, but you can hand write if you really want to. I like the department. Every place has it's issues. It is what you make it.

There are also specialty, Community Services Unit, K-9, Vice, that have flexible schedules. The call volume really varies. There can be minimal (no-1 or 2 calls) to call to call non-stop depending on what day and shift you work. There is always something to do if you want to find it.
