Escambia County sheriff awards promotions to 30
    From staff reports

Escambia County Sheriff Ron McNesby has promoted 30 sworn officers who passed the sergeant's and lieutenant's tests.

The promotions are the second part of a two-phase restructuring plan.

The promotions will alleviate supervisory positions vacated as a result of the state Deferred Retirement Option Plan, McNesby said in a news release.

The goal of the restructuring plan is to make the Sheriff's Office a more professional organization by increasing the accountability and supervision of officers, McNesby said.

"I want you to know that today, we are starting a new direction with this agency," McNesby said. "We have a new motto; that motto is 'We Care.'

"We do truly care. We want the public to know that we care and we are going to work hard on promoting that phrase."

Those promoted to lieutenant were: Carl Jones, Barton Fryer, Jason Potts, Frank Forte, Joseph Webber II, Michael Amerson, Alan Barton, Joseph Eddins, Rex Blackburn and Randy Blake.

Also, Carol Campbell, Roger Grice and Eric Haines.

Those promoted to sergeant were: Laura Montoya, Robert Way, John Greathouse, Charles Greer IV, Jack Holland, Roderick Custer Jr., Michael Hoyland and Philip Nix.

Also, Raynard Robinson, Stephen Schaff, Kevin Vickery, Gordon Sztukowski, Walter Tappan, Darrell Allday, Donald NeSmith Jr., Robert Powers and Lafe Highfill.

Yeah, the sheriff care as much as our own chief cares. give us a break and keep these press releases generic. You are all so self-serving it's sickening.
