The real problem is the FTO's and the program. If FTO's were training the trainees correctly you would see more passing the FTO program. Quite a few west side FTO's should not be training anyone. Certain FTO are very negative and thinks they are God and the trainee is dirt under their feet. FTO Sgt has a chip on his shoulder and if you are not liked by him or his FTO's you will never make it. Good luck if you go to the program on the west side. You will get the boot out the door and your chance forn a job in the law enforcement field is history.

The FTO program is run just like the rest of the agency. The FTO's are run into the ground with little to no breaks month after month. Most of them don't want to train anymore but have too becuase they won't let them resign. Most to all became an FTO because they believed in it and wanted to do it for themselfs and promotions. But as usual here promotions are a popularity contest. The last guy to just get promoted wasn't even an FTO.....NICE...

Do you want to be an FTO at Pasco Sheriff's office? Just put in for it and your in. What on going training does an FTO get? The agency should give extra interpersonel skills because most of the FTO don't care about training the trainee. The FTO is happy to have some one drive them around all day while he tlks on his cell to friends or family. The problem with so many trainees not making the FTO program is the lack of quality training from the FTO's. FTO and trainee in 1st or 2nd phase go to JARF in pinellas, harbors or the jail. Trainee and FTO gets called back because of incorrect or incomplete paperwork, sounds like an FTO training issue. I have heard a corporal/FTO arrive 1st on scene to a red call S32 atempt man s-o with a gun and shots fired into the air. Dispatch is unable to reach FTO on the radio. Next unit on scene advised dispatch FTO's radio battery is dead but FTO is 10-04. Sonuds like one of Pasco's finest FTO's.
