Was Swearingen's speech to the Special Agent Class legit?

Commissioner Rick Swearingen spoke to the new Special Agent Academy last week, congratulating them on being hired by FDLE. Why was Rick's speech an absolute joke?

When Rick states that each and every Agent in there was selected from thousands of applicants, heavily screened and scrutinized for experience, integrity, and worthiness for the position. Applications were scored and only the best were brought forward. This may be true for the class! However....

THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE JOKE COMING FROM SWEARINGEN!! Why? Because Rick got his position, the highest position in State Law Enforcement, through a buddy appointment from the then Governor, Rick Scott, and Swearingen himself faced no application process, competition, nor were his qualifications even glanced at. He was THE main guy in charge of protecting the Governor, and went above and beyond to ingratiate and become strong personal friends with the Governor who then GAVE HIM HIS POSITION.

Rick had very little experience in Actual Law Enforcement, very little experience in Supervision, and ZERO experience at running an Agency and more importantly, how to handle employees (Members? ) in the masses. Even worse- ZERO ability to not only supervise, but to interact and lead Supervisors and other leaders up top in a way that was best for the Agency and the workers overall.

You see, when you are placed in a top position and don't know what you're doing, you make sure everyone that should have gotten the position are good with you and you smooth over everyone on top... and by smooth over, you let them do whatever they want regardless of how it effects the pee-ons below that, at that point, just don't matter. You can talk to people of average employment positions that he was friends with before he was given the top position... and many (if not all) will tell you he ghosted anyone below any leadership position after he was gifted his position. I'm sure this was to create separation from the peasants and put them in their place where they belong. After all, that's what shitty leaders do- once they become leaders, it's about setting yourself up good and going after those that you couldn't before you had power. It's not about leading and making the FDLE family better, stronger, or closer.. it's about him, his power, and making sure his absolute power is never questioned.

You can also ask why there are so many positions available right now? FDLE is not a first response agency, so it's not like the problems other agencies have. It's because Ricks toxic workplace that he has created in every region has led to mass retirements and people quitting. These huge gaps will now be filled with the fake image that Rick is a nice guy, supportive, and belongs. But of course, the most important thing to Rick is this- all the new hires are desperate, need and want the job, and will now be trained to live in the toxic environment he has created because that's all they will ever know. They will all be "YES" men/women, and now the idiotic and ridiculous Supervisors will not be recognized as the ass-kissing idiots that are just his puppets.

There is no question that Rick has changed the atmosphere around FDLE to the absolute worse the Agency has ever seen.

Best of luck to the new hires going forward.. the good news is that Rick is old and most likely on his way out... soon.
