Exclamation A message from your command

    Sgt's and Lt's.

Actually, I should just say Lt's. A quick poll tells me that Sgt's didn't really want out of the FOP. Anyhow, thank you for your sacrifice. We promise not to cross you, that is until we decide that it's time for you to go.

As long as you play along with our master plan, you should be fine. In the meantime, I invite you to join the FDSA, which is run and maintained by the FSA. Please get with Eric B., who will be able to sign you up, being that he is a board member of the FDSA and the voice behind us pulling out of the union. Please keep in mind though, in order to be covered by the FSDA, you need to be actively employed by the agency you signed up under. If the Sheriff fires you, you have no coverage. As opposed to the FOP, who has always worked for you, and provided coverage in your worst times. As long as you are a dues-paying member that hasn't been convicted of a crime, you are covered by the FOP legal plan.

Think about this, old-time CCSO members. Do you really want to depend on your employment status to determine if you have coverage? If history repeats itself, you will be fired and policy will be changed before you ever have a say in protecting your career. Instead of dropping out of the union, think about joining the union executive ranks. This is where you can make a difference for the rank and file which is very honorable in itself. Lets's face it, our current admin does not respect the FOP admin and will likely never will. We need members of rank and status to join the FOP in protecting us.

I don’t agree with “de-unionizing”. Stupid move, but the Sgt’s/LT's are already “in the club”, and don’t have much to worry about. For us “working people”, it’s very important. With that said, FOP is failing us….why should we keep FOP and not switch to a different union? What do we have to loose at this point?

The fact that we can have a vote on who runs the FOP gives us the home team advantage. Other unions do what is best for the majority of their members, which may not be best for us, Maybe its time someone else takes the lead in the FOP.

The fact that the admin is going after FOP so hard proves that the FOP is doing something even if it's just pissing off the sheriff.

They make it easy since they are lazy and didn’t do their jobs!

If you don't like what the FOP is doing you can have a voice on who is running it. The same isn't true for the admin, or the alternative that admin is proposing for the FOP. As always it's much easier for members to run their mouth than to stick their necks out and get involved. If the FOP had more involvement the administration would get the message that we serve the office at our pleasure not the other way around.

We can also vote FOP out. It’s not just who is running our lodge, they have failed us on a state level. We shouldn’t have to “stick our own necks out”, that’s what we pay FOP for!
