Those fired for less, didn't have any connections in the department or at city hall. Some did deserve it, a few didn't. Over the years, if a staff member had a hard on for a officer, soon they were gone. Those in rank between the office and staff member did nothing to help officers, so as not to get on staff's list. What gets me is, a patrol office will get fired, others who've done the same thing, get a pass or even moved out of patrol to a special unit, to avoid a repeat of the incident. Nothing about this place in the city is fair. Each day you come to work, with good intentions and 1 call or run in with someone can turn it to sh!t.

The only good thing I see about Ortiz's behavior is, those fired for the same or less. Now have a chance to keep there job. Cause of the way, there handling him. The department is setting new standards (which are not good on the most part) on how to react to problem officers.
