For those of you who don't remember the late 80's were not a good period of time for those wearing the brown gown and working until then a relatively tranquil district. Officers Bowles and Strzalkowski were killed together on Biscayne Boulevard and Officer Tim Martin was shot and killed during a routine traffic stop.

Hopefully we will remember that we can be targeted anywhere and at any time and be prepared. It is obvious that today's criminals think nothing of attempting to murder a law enforcement officer. As the young Doral PD officer can attest to recently his decision to wear his vest saved his life. Be careful and vigilant out there!!!
