On October 9, 2020, Sergeant Lizlinda Bremer was observed at a Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) conference in St. Pete Beach, Florida. Sergeant Bremer was carried as “Full Disability” at the time.
Internal Affairs closed the allegation of Improper Procedure as Sustained. Staff recommends closing the allegation of Improper Procedure as sustained.

Sergeant Bremer performed at the funeral of Officer Aubrey Johnson and attended a Fraternal Order of Police Conference while on Full Disability Status. She was instructed by the Health Services Detail to remain quarantined and follow all Departmental Orders and Directives to include notification if leaving her place of quarantine was needed. Staff recommends Sustaining the allegation of Improper Procedure based on the following Departmental Orders:

Departmental Order 6, Chapter 3, Health Services Detail, Section 3.4.17 Activities While Disabled During Normal Duty Hours: Injured or ill employees, while disabled, shall remain at home, at their place of recuperation, or in the hospital during their entire period of disability during normal duty hours (Monday to Friday, 0800 to 1700 hours).

Departmental Order 6, Chapter 3, Health Services Detail, Section 3.4.17.l Injured or ill employees shall notify the Health Services Detail when they need to leave their place of residence or recuperation for any length of time during normal duty hours (Monday to Friday, 0800 to 170 0 hours). ff unable to contact the Health Services Detail, the employee shall contact the Communications Complaint Sergeant.

Departmental Order 6, Chapter 3, Health Services Detail, Section 3.4.17.2 The Health Services Detail supervisor (or designee) will edit the employee's schedule to reflect the time the employee was absent from work and the employee's pay shall be adjusted accordingly.

Departmental Order 6, Chapter 3, Health Services Detail, Section 3.4.18 Outside Working Hours Activities While Disabled: Injured employees engaging in normal daily, necessary personal activities and/or making necessary trips to the drug store, grocery store, physician, etc., outside working hours should take precautionary measures to avoid aggravating the injury.

Departmental Order 6, Chapter 3, Health Services Detail, Section 3.4.18.1 During other than normal duty hours, the employee shall contact the Department of Risk Management. The employee shall inform the Health Services Detail supervisor and/or the Department of Risk Management of the time of departure, expected time of return, and provide a telephone number where the employee can be reached, in the event it becomes necessary.

We demand justice , there has been officers terminated in the past for time altering , another friends and family case.
