Rural to suburban in just a few years.

With real urban traffic congestion and crimes.

Fire departments EMS and schools are being built, and roads are being widened.

Our infrastructure looks to be keeping up.

Yet… Where are our deputies? Where is our mid shift?

Physically spending money to buy the D5 building and renovate it plus promoting a bunch of sworn desk jockeys to implement it does not mean staffing.

Put the same effort you did for boosting our deputy staffing levels and you did with the quick implementation of body cameras and the fifth set of office positions and brass. Recruitment detectives are still doing great getting steps in on their walks around the building every day. While many of us jump dangerous calls.

There are multiple new apartment complexes, neighborhoods, schools, department stores, construction, you name it. With many districts still ring operated in the same manner as when I first started. Back when areas were mostly rural.

Does this make me disgruntled for noticing this? Do heros just look the other way and not care? Because in the end, we burn our or get hurt. Not the bean counters that refuse to do anything about this.

We have an ice cream truck though.

Hey look, it's a self proclaimed "HERO". You aren't from here, are you? Other than a few pockets in East and South County, this County hasn't been rural in 30 years!

    GTFO with this nonsense!

I know that full and well. Born and raised here. I seem first hand what this county has been allowed to be come. A mental hospital. I meant the question from the business point of view of this agency. If we have not been rural in 30 years, then why does each one of our districts still operate like an archaic low staffed back woods sheriffs office? Big city population and problems run by a small county sheriffs office. Small based on boots on the street. Not toys, budget, or never ending amount of brass and office buildings we have all over. When you break I’d down by district, we barely barely keep up. Work a zone a few years. You will see. From a citizen standpoint alone, it’s not excusable.

Just venting on an old site. I could take this to social media or at a minimum start trying to bring attention to this site. I’m long gone from this agency but have grown kids working here. One in the jail and one on patrol. Not to mention young friends that are about half way through their careers who I care very much about. Also, I’m a citizen. Sick of the games that people and agencies play with cops.
