The city will never do away with the D/C rank or commanders. The only reason, people are bit@hing about the D/C, it wasn't given to a F&F inside. Some find it easier, to act negatively towards the new chief and D/C, then try to work with them.

Commanders ranks was nothing but a PR move to appease the public and show more so called minorities on staff. For, years the city and department appointed rank, based solely off of ones race. Commanders rank, should be removed and make them net Lt's. One commander per district (3) and one downtown, for a total of 4 department wide. Promoting one based solely off of race, shows we haven't progressed or learned anything.
