Next pay raise better be significant...

3 Deputies on my squad showed up for work. THREE (3) !!!!!!!!!

    All while...
New residents (and homeless people) are POURING into Hillsborough County.
    Crime is skyrocketing.
Non-LEO calls are being dispatched at MachIII speed.
Report calls that should be taken ONLINE are being dispatched more often than "victims" are leaving their doors unlocked.
Deputies are getting hurt, shot at, fired, and infected with Covid ("Prove you were infected at work.")

No wonder there's no one left to answer calls for service.
No wonder numerous deputies are retiring right before being able to qualify for a pension.

When's the last time we had a significant pay increase?
If ever there's a time when a significant pay increase is appropriate, and more than deserved, it is now.

Raise won’t make up for becoming emotionally completely drained and suffering from full on occupational burnout. Then limping along year after miserable year looking for another career to pay the bills. A raise would be a curse. It would make you more stuck.

Good post. As long as we keep making it work, they won’t change anything. I recommend and agency wide slow down.

Agree. One call at a very slow time.

Are we really at a place at HCSO where we should be encouraging more people to quit? It seems like we are already scraping to get by.

Don't forget in addition to all this, now we have to play school crossing guard twice a day while our zones are blowing up. Once in the morning and once in the afternoon.

Sounds like you're not familiar with how school works?

Shut up mother fukker! Don’t undermine that post. I get dispatched to school crossing once or twice a week. Don’t the fukking crossing guards have back up people? Or a back up system?

Why is patrol the back up to everything? Where is our back up?
