The Million Dollar Question That No One Will Ask

It has been known for YEARS that deploying tire deflation devices is dangerous as hell. LEO's have been killed several times deploying them. This is not a new thing. Anyone who has put out Stop Sticks knows exactly how exposed you are to a speeding vehicle that is coming your way. So given how one of our brothers died putting them out, why hasn't the agency revamped it's policy? Why are we still leaving the safety of our Tahoe to put out Stop Sticks and we try avoiding getting run over at the same time? You know why? Because no one with any rank or power has ever had to put them out. They wouldn't risk their life for it. We do, every time we do it. But they are sure happy when one of us does it. We have been nothing but lucky when avoiding getting plowed over by fleeing vehicles. Like it or not we lost one of our own who was out of his cruiser to deploy Stop Sticks. Had he been in his cruiser he would have most likely survived the same crash. Why aren't we more aggressively PIT'ing fleeing cars our boxing them in? Word is we are not allowed to box in fleeing vehicles. And PIT's don't happen so easy and they are ugly.

Waiting for Eagle is tough when they have to wake up half the flight crew. Seven minutes, HAHAH, maybe if they were sleeping in the ****pit. The PIT and BOX work and they don't require much time to set up. Why aren't we doing it more?? Because I don't give a crap what Training says about getting distance between you and the bad guy. You still have to lay the damn things out, run the line out and pick a spot where you can guess when to pull the Sticks out is. The failure rate for getting Stop Sticks under tires is high by the way.

And the toss as they pass method was created by a retard with a death wish. Even when you have time to set them up you are trying to avoid being hit by passing traffic and the fleeing car that's doing 100 miles per hour towards you. You do all that so we don't ding up cruisers!!!!! I don't care where you stand, your life is in jeopardy when you are standing out of your cruiser putting out plastic toys that may or may not work.

Where can you stand safely on US 19 where all the overpasses are? No where. You are walled in. You think that Tahoe will stop them if they hit it? Nope. And what if they swerve to avoid the sticks, as they do?

Are there other devices? Are there other tactics? Are there other ways? Or do we just ignore the FACT that a brother was killed trying to put these stupid ideas from the 90's out for a truck we should have smashed off the road?!?!

Not too soon, this topic is TOO GOD DAMN LATE!!!!

Strategically placed round through the drivers cranium would end it all. But society isn’t ready for that brutal resolution. Can’t PIT over 55 mph. Can’t PIT a SUV or truck. If you’re lucky enough, i.e. the driver slowing down you may be able to PIT the car or even set up a box. Options are very limited and unless it is a aggravated felony I wouldn’t even bother. The penalties for fleeing and Eluding need to be elevated and people caught should have a minimum mandatory jail sentence and license is suspended for life. No questions asked. that vehicle in my opinion is a deadly weapon and should be treated as such. Up to include deadly force.

Stop Sticks. Created in 1992. Real Current Tech! Bob's policy. Bob's equipment. Way to stay current on trends man. Exit cruiser, throw plastic sticks or pull them with a freakin string like a kite. What could go wrong? I wonder what other options have come out since 1992.

Actually if congress passed a law which allowed law enforcement to be able to disable the vehicle’s engine thru the manufacturer in stolen vehicles or high risk situations. Once vehicle is reported stolen in ncic fcic, the vehicle shuts off and is located by manufacturer in its gps. Now, this would only work in newer vehicles. Over time, this would cut down stolen vehicle reports.

You have been drinking so much fermented pear juice it is running out of your mouth. You need to go back to training to learn how to properly use the stop sticks.
