She claimed whistleblower protection in order to go to the media. This is just another fallout as part of transistional decision-making.
Everyone has their rights, this chief will not dispute this, but decisions being made are possibly clean ups from missteps taken previously.
Frankly, it's good to challenge, as it helps the process understand where weaknesses are and where mistakes might have been made.

This should not be a bad thing, no one wants anything ever taken away from them, we understand this with economic assistance checks, disability checks, and on;

By claiming whistle-blower protection she can't be punished. The real issue is how ridiculous her lawsuit is. She claims she was demoted because of her race and sex and yet, Major Butler and Chief Guase are still in their positions. She will lose once her resume and experience is compared to other black females. Dumb move.
