Arrow Advice for new guys and girls

To all the newbies, word of advice. Protect yourselves because no one else here will.

Don’t ever expect a pat on the back for doing a good job.

Stay low key, do what you gotta do and go home.

Train on your off time. The department will invest little on you.

Be where your supposed to be at all times.

Don’t get caught up with this so called Blue Brothers bullshit it’s every man for himself.

Most Sgts are not your friend. If it comes down to it they will throw you under the bus.

This website is poison…go on here for entertainment purposes only. Believe half the shit on here.

Most important, DONT GET COMPLACENT! Shit will find you eventually.

    My 2 cents.

Don’t like it? Pound sand homie.

I don’t know who the author of this post is, but I’d like to personally commend you for your insight, measured advise and absolutely brilliant response. You are what we need more of in this department and within the profession.
I wish I knew who this was so that I could personally thank you.
God Bless you. Be safe. And I pray you have access to some of the new personnel, so as to possibly influence them. You are a credit to yourself, this agency and the profession.
    Respectfully,

Very good read. Agree with everything you said.

We need more positivity in this department. This place has so much potential. This job is too easy for anyone to be stressed out. It is truly a hidden gem. Not for everyone, but if you happen to be here make the best of it. There is ALOT of downtime. Educate yourself. Keep negative officers away.
