Concern yourself more with the message and not the time on idiot. The important thing is I’ve been on long enough to know what it’s like to have been supported as now I know that we are not If you don’t feel the same, keep doing what you do. We will read about you eventually when the director does a press conference throwing you under the bus and you fight for your job like the others.

I have seen the changes over a few decades. Jerks are promoted and then nepotism is another problem. Like I said F this, who cares about a freaking uniform when not even the people on the streets respect it.
I’m confused. I don’t know if you’re agreeing or disagreeing with me, but it seems like the only disagreement is the part that I still like this uniform. Other than that, I’m in total agreement with you and I’m saying the same thing

What the old timer is saying, is that at the end of the day, in addition to the friends and family program being a huge problem, the fact the the third floor and downtown is not backing the troops is an even bigger problem and is a major reason as to why we have gotten to point where we are now.

When the director is a puppet to a socialist mayor, what do you expect? Good thing about us silver badges is that we never had to suck up, kiss ass, or sell our soul to move up.

It seems like not a single person knows wtf they are doing. There’s no direction or leadership. The old cops say f this. The new cops say f you. Everyone’s moral is in the dumpster. The bureaus and districts are mostly dumpster fires with incompetent leadership. The ground floor personnel only look out for themselves. Wtf happened to us?

Is it hiring? Friends and family? Is it the changes in policing over the past few decades? Body worn cameras?

Not a troll here looking to start s**t. I’m looking for articulate answers from people young and old who want to get to the bottom of this so maybe it can be solved in the next generation or two.
Let's start in the 1990's, the Mayor gained power over the County Manager as Strong Mayor.

Then the Commisioners began demonizing the Department after "Operation Clean Sweep".

Afterwards, the good old boys who ran the Department were run out by the new Cuban Mafia.

Mayor Alex Pinellas appointed Director Carlos Alvarez to take over after Fred Taylor was forced out in 1996/1997.

Director Carlos Alvarez would clean up the swamp of what was left of the good old boys. He began appointing people he could trust. He moved Deputy Director Tom Arnold over to Corrections.

Most of the white anglo Majors and Chiefs like Major Flynn, Chief Ned Valois and Chief Thoms Lamont, were pretty old and close to retirement. The negros called the POC under Patterson's leadership would go down to the County Commission demanding a piece of the Command Staff Pie. They wanted black Majors and chiefs.

The Community and County became a political movement for the Cubans and Blacks. Organizations like the POC and HPOA began getting involved with political parties and politics. HPOA had the numbers and edge so Cubans got more p l.j positions and real estate as far as power in the Department and the County Commission.

Since the 1990's, the Department has been in a race war between the Blacks and Cubans for power and sweet positions. By the 2000's, Carlos Alvarez would run for Mayor and win. However another Cuban name Carlos Gimenez hated Carlos Alvarez and really did not like cops.

Carlos Alvarez as Strong Mayor worked with John Rivera to get us big raises. However it was short lived.

A Jewish billionaire name Norman Braman rose up against our raises, uprooted and recalled Carlos Alvarez, and replaced him with his friend Mayor Carlos Gimenez.

This is when shiiit went down hill. Carlos Gimenez said we did not deserve our raises. John Rivera tried for three years fighting and suing the County to get our raises.

Unfortunately in the end, we lost our raises and shortly afterward, John Rivera would be betrayed and replaced by Steadman Stahl over allegations of mismanagement of PBA funds.

Once Steadman Stahl took over, the deal was sealed. The PBA really doesn't fight hard for raises. Officers are fired for screaming, slamming doors, slapping violent subjects, address changes, minor domestics if the Department doesn't like you, and the list goes on that you can be fired for anything.

The PBA lo laughs and post as well as brag about who got fired and in fact they post names of officers they do not like on this site to stir up old shiiit.

When you have a weak azz union and no one to defend officers Rights shiiit will continue to go down hill.

What's even more sad is the PBA and PLEA spend more time fighting each other over dumb shiit, instead of fighting for our rights as police officers.

Your qualifications no longer matter as who you know or blow took completely over as far as your assignment. Anglos and clean living were replaced with the most unfit and unqualified blacks and corrupt cubans.

You may not like these truths but the Department was better and had less bullshit when a white Anglo ran it.

Director Loftus tried to sustain some balls, but Carlos Gimenez cut them off before he could say Make this Department Great Again.

Parker really never got a chance to shine for he was always in the shadows of Mayor Carlos Alvarez.

By the time Patterson took over he reduced the Department budget, and destroyed most of the proactive squads and units to handle high crime and violence in Miami-Dade County. Basically he took a pay cut from 230,000 dollars to 190, 000 dollars to become a useless Director and pretty much fired good cops for little of nothing.

Now JP took over with a loud bark, but after the affair and UPS scandal the big bark became a big meow.

Freddy was left with no power to demote the useless and inept command staff of unqualified blacks because as you know, PATTERSON is back as the CHIEF PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER, so they feel untouchable.

Nanny is gone so Freddy has no real guidance. So give the guy a break. He is surviving as they all are at this time.

He has one AD leaving soon and the other AD who really is a Lieutenant by rank waiting to replace him as soon as Patterson says so.

Pratt left and Ricky joined her. Look at most officers who are retiring with less than 20 years.

Look what just happened on Miami Beach when officers do their job, yet 5 were arrested for a THUG.

This cop life isn't getting any better after the whole GEORGE FLOYD Incident.

There is the truth for you.
