Love them or hate them, SRO's are important for community relations.. especially with kids of this generation.. if FMPD allows this to happen that is an enormous mistake.

It sucks for the SRO'S that have been cops for sometime and wanted to do something different and catch a break from humping calls. All the little cupcake princesses that hadn't even finished probation and went to SRO to get away from road patrol can now do real police work. How many will leave now?

I believe one of the reasons is the spots were all federal grant money and the grant ended.

This was only a grand stand event by the Sheriff. This matter was all straightened out today between the Sheriff and Diggs. The SRO's will still be in the schools. The only change is Sgt. JG has been kicked out of the unit back to the road patrol replace by Sgt. Benitez.
